Yiorgos Limakis

Yiorgos Limakis was born in Crete – Greece and started studying music at the age of five. He graduated with a Degree in Classical Guitar Performance and a Degree in Classical Harmony. Later on he continued his studies in Contemporary Classical Music, in London, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Arts in Music Composition from Middlesex University. In 2010 he won the 1st prize in the pan-Hellenic competition H.ON. in Athens, with the ensemble called Natural Sound Trio.

He has collaborated with great musicians of Greece (as a bassist & guitarist) and singers such as Ch. Alexiou, E. Arvanitaki, N. Portokaloglou, D. Galani, E. Paspala, G. Kotsyra, M. Frangouli and others. He is a member of the orchestra of the very famous maestro-composer Stavros Xarchakos. He lives in Athens where he participates in various recordings, concerts in Greece and abroad, in many ensembles composing music, arranging and also teaching guitar and composition.
